Gah! Sofia, you did it again!

I've been looking forward to this movie since I heard the rumors about the making of it and when I saw the trailer this summer or something I think I fell a little bit in love with both Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning, it's not suppose to hit the movies until x-mas i think so when I founf out it was gonna be the openning film at the Oslo International Film Festival, I guess you can imagine I was kinda sold..

The opening was yesterday and the movie was just as beautiful as I hoped it would be!

I love that Sofia Coppola has spent such unusually long time on some scenes just to create some absolutely beautiful pictures, kin of like paintings, with some movement, and music.. needless to say, the soundtrack was good, it alwways is with this Italian-american..
I LOVED Steven Dorff, I don't think anyone has seen him like this before? My boyfriend thought he was even funnier than Bill Murray in Lost in translation, but I don't like to compare them like that, it was more like Dorff's responce to what was happening around him that made him funny and it was enough of little absurd scenes and eccentric people to make that happen.

Elle fanning is way to cool to be 12.

And the love between Cleo and Johnny literary translated itself over on us in the public, they had a really good chemistry.

A lot of things made Somewhere a really funny movie, I loved that stripper-guy from jack ass was in it and mystic actor in the elevator...

Think my message is pretty clear here, just see the movie.

So dark in a way.. like a mix of twin-peaks, the shining, Yeti, Chanel fall 2010, vodka, scary spruces, the Libuse Safrankova and and grev Dracul.
I love the mountains.
Last year I was dreaming myself away for a ski-and spa-trip to Slovakia and the Tatra-mountains, one day baby...

Maybe I haven't told you how much I love fall?
I LOVE fall!
Not so much because I like watching things die.. but because the light and the colors are the most beautiful in fall, the air is the clearest, it's the best time to eat daube and drink côte du Rhone, it's my b-day and most importantly; the most beautiful clothes always comes with fall.
I practically dived into this soft piece of camel-cashmere at Zara the other day and it just felt like home. It was a 80s Max Mara-dream come true. yeah, I'm in love. Coat, you're so fine, wish you could be mine.

I guess while we're in on it, I might as well post a picture of the most beautiful coat i have ever seen in my life. The coat of my dreams. Now enjoy looking at this fucking unbelievably beautiful coat. This goes out to you Stella, you know how to make coat's...

Oh God I have serious magazine-abstinences.
Really don't know how long I can keep up this "I'm a student, I should bye food, not magazines"-mentality, it really makes no sense to me..
So while I'm speculating in what fab new mag I should get, I can share with you my new fave female bombshell, and she's funny!

Well, you should, it's awesome! It's totally worth seeing just cause of the amazing 20's style clothes!

Anywho, Enoch (Steve Buscemi) 'Nucky' Thompson's lover/muse Lucy Danziger played by Paz de la Huerta is hilarious!
my favorite scene with her so far is when after scratching up Nucky's chest which is bleeding severely, he cries out "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" and she replies, naked and with a mopey face "I'm a little tiger".
Yeah, I thought it was funny anyway.
No doubt she's the sex-kitten of the series, but she's not just that, she has real comic talent. That's why I like her, and with this part I really think she's gonna be undeniable.

Floral-patterned dreams with little round french men..(WTF-kind of blog title was that?)

Tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock ladies can be seen bitch-fighting over a floral-patterned Lanvin-designed dress at a H&M-prize.
No wonder they'll be fighting!
It's times like these I wish I was a fashion-slut, it-girl or something!
But alas, I'm merely a fashion junkie and a sucker for fashion..

Oh well, I can watch this video while I meditate over whether I should stand in line or, go have a look see around lunch-time or something, maybe everything won't be ripped away all at once...

Anyone seen the various "it gets better"-videos that's out?
Anyway, I think it's a really nice initiative and such good messages for kids who struggle either because their gay or just different.
Bullying haven't been a big thing in Norwegian media lately but I'm pretty sure u can find it here as well. I'm thinking that in Norway these videos could really be seen as a counter-message to our infamous "jantelov" that basically says -You shouldn't think your someone because your different, -don't stick your head out, -your not worth shit, etc..

Awesome new film out; Winter's Bone!!

This beautiful new American country noir movie just took the Sundance with storm I understand, got two prizes at the Berlin film festival as well, all well deserved if u ask me!
As much as i love movies that take me away, is an escape and all that, some movies are beautiful, exiting and challenging all at the same time.
I know for a fact that this movie is gonna stay in my memory for a long time.
As well as having a really good storyline and poking into issues that we mostly like to not think about, like poverty in modern U.S.A., Winter's bone is worth seeing just cause of how incredible Jennifer Lawrence as the main character Ree Dolly is!
Man is she tough!
..Yes I am weak for movies with good women's parts and except for Ree's scary uncle, winter's bone is mostly driven by some mean ass ladies.
I wanna read the book..
Really liked this film.

I have gotten a total hangup on this relatively new Montée-single; Ghost.

Gives me good late 70's, mostly 80's-chills though I cant really put my finger on what it reminds me of the most..
Fleetwood mac? Toto?! Faith no more? Paul simon? Sting? Phil collins??? Def leppard? Van halen(think of right now)?

I dunno, the song stands for itself and it's on my brain at the moment.

Reading with Julia: The Master and Margarita

I finally finished The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov today.

Man!

Who needs to travel or go on vacation when you can just read this book? in fact, it's better than traveling!

I had  been wanting to read it for quite some time, years to be honest.. and then, when I read "Mick & Keith: Parallel lines" by Chris Salewicz (also a brilliant and fascinating book BTW), I wanted to read it some more because, while it's commonly known that Sympathy for the devil (needs no explanation right..) is directly inspired by the novel, Salewicz could tell me a lot about how The Master and Margarita has had quite an impact on the 70s London (read: the the world's navel at the time).
That it was super-influential to the music/art-scene and that it was considered an almost bible by individuals within the same environment  that went on to start occult groups or sect's or whatever you wanna call it anyway, people, artists and musicians who decided to start worship Satan.
Some moved to Mediterranean islands to do so in peace, and some went on to join Charles Manson on his evil quests.
This gets very exiting right!

All of this has of course furthermore strengthened the myth's around this book, and made it a cult-classic.
Not to forget folks, this is not just pulp fiction we're talking about here, it's really a classic, by many considered one of the most influential books of the 21st century..


But Most importantly, this is really really really. Really. Good reading. And it's hilarious!
The story takes you to Moscow under Stalin, further back to Jerusalem in, or rather shortly after, the time of Jesus Christ, and then back again.
Actually I'm just gonna stop there, in case some decides they wanna read it, and not go on to be telling you about talking cats and.. yeah, I'm gonna leave it there.

While I'm not really sure why it's taken me such a long time to finish the book, it's not like it's very hard reading or anything, I'm kinda glad it's been with me for almost half a year because having just gotten through it I already miss it.
And while I could've easily read it again right now, I'm afraid I've already passed it on to a friend.

Can one be in love with a novel?

Maybe I'm just under it's spell.. Evil forces may soon manifest themselves in central Oslo...

So, Norwegian papers are making a big fuzz out of N.E.R.D's only appearance in Norway this summer, not that anyone blames them for that.
N.E.R.D has made "Midnattsrocken" (translates to midnight-rock or something but you can just read: a festival way over yonder-north and in the middle of nowhere, scary close to the north-pole..) as their venue of choise this year, and it was probably a super-exotic experience for Pharrell, the rest of the band, the crew and the aprox. 14 people in the public, and I can totally get into your whole I'm so sexy I can work this hat looking like a 12-year-old and still have sex with your entire family!
But sex-appeal or not dude, do you really wanna describe your new album as a retro-futuristic travel into the 60's and 70's?
really??
And don't gimme that hippie-grin!

Inspiration for Anitra

Yoes yous guys..
Until I can decide on what this blog is even gonna be about I'm just gonna post things.. I think..
Anywho.

In August I'm gonna play the part of Anitra in the famous play by Henrik Ibsen; "Peer Gynt".
As you might have imagined, the play is about Peer and in (very) short I can tell you that Peer is pretty much a douchebag and a liar.
He goes through his life not being able to finish anything, he's only thinking about himself and takes no responsibility.
During his life and travels he meets a lot of different characters and one of them is Anitra.

Anitra is one of the seductresses in the play (along with den grønnkledde/the green-clad woman) and she's a real gold-digger.
Anitra shows up in the desert of north-Africa, shes the daughter of a Bedouin chief and basically the leader of the pack.

Man I'm so exited to play her!! and been thinking a lot lately about inspiration for the character.
I can't really decide if shes a woman or a girl, but what's for sure is that she's a tease and totally irresistible.
The scene of Anitra is probably the most sexually charged theme of the play and in many adaptations it has turned out pretty raw.. I cant wait to see how it turns out in our adaptation of the play!

I see Anitra as very exotic (as opposed to me, Norwegian, blond with blue eyes.. :#) and almost animal-like, she reminds me of everything from gypsies to turk belly-dancers and Hottentots.
One thing that really struck me as inspiration for Anitra a little while ago though, is Beyoncé in the déjà vu music-video.
Obviously her AMAZING dancing in the sand wearing a green bast-like skirt and a gold-bra or something, but also, her "character" during the whole video, apparently under the spell of Jay Z and out of control with lust for him, but maybe really totally calculated and in control of the situation, the seducer as opposed to the one being seduced..;)

another reason to feel guilty about eating ice-cream?!!?

So I stumbled upon this documentary on youtube that I thought was gonna be about The grateful dead (that I'm a big fan of), but it really turned out to be a kind of tragic story of what happened after Jerry Garcia's death, with his beloved guitars, his ex-wife and daughter, but worst of all, his gready bitch of a widow, OMG! she's a real whore! Jerry Garcia was and still is like the epidome of a hippie and now that horrible creep is turning profit with everything from Jerry Garcia-dools(for real!!?!) to tie's and offcourse, the thing that I love the most; Ben&Jerry's ice-cream...

I love Ben&Jerry's so much!
Why did I have to be exposed to that evil bitch and my naiv impression of Ben&Jerry's as this hippie eco ice-cream destroyed forever!
Now everytime I eat Ben&Jerrys I will shead a tear fo Jerry Garcia and the fact that I just made that wannabe-hippie-slut a little bit more filty rich...;(
